Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is one of the most awaited festivals of the year, specially for sisters who wait to tie that bond of love on their brothers' hand. The festival is mostly celebrated in India, Nepal and some parts of Asia. The festival is symbolised when a sister ties a thread, bracelet or talisman on the wrist of her brother.
Raksha Bandhan is observed on the last day of the month of Shraavana, according to the Hindu lunar calendar and it's mostly observed around August. On this auspicious day, sisters of all ages, whether single or married, tie a bracelet called ‘rakhi’ around the wrists of their brothers.
